Homologue blood donation

The donor refers to blood collection centers once to four times a year for the sake of humanitarian values, aid to mankind, and national cooperation, and is examined and undergoes counseling, and in case the doctor of the donors section permits, donates blood or one of its components with no expectation of reward.

ٱ In more than 99 % of cases, the donor does not know the recipient of blood.

ٱ And the blood or blood products are sent to treatment centers after screening tests and confirming the safety of blood, and is used according to the need of a patient.

ٱ In less than 1 % of cases, the donor refers to the blood transfusion department upon written request of the doctor of a certain patient, to donate blood, which includes the following cases:

1- The applicant refers to the center at the request of a treating physician to undergo examination and counseling along with screening tests and after the doctor is ascertained of his health, the previously mentioned person donates warm blood at the time of the surgery of the said patient.

2- the applicant refers to the center at the request of a treating physician and donates blood if accepted by the doctor of donors , screening tests are performed routinely , and if the blood health is attested , it is delivered to the blood bank of the hospital to be used for the patient already determined .

3- The donor refers to the blood transfusion center at the request of the doctor and based on the needs for a certain patient, and if accepted donates one of his blood components.

  Autologue Blood Donation

The patient donates blood at the written request of the treating physician to increase the safety of the blood he may need probably one month prior to his surgery, who can be admitted in the Tehran pheresis section from 8 Am to 14 Pm. It is necessary for these patients to be tested for ABO and Rh group and the screening test.

ٱ About 500 to 1000 ml of patient’s blood is taken before the surgery, and is injected to him during the surgery.

ٱ It is also possible to collect the blood released through bleeding during the surgery by a special device and inject it back to the patient after the blood’s passage through a filter.
