Blood Products

Collected blood samples at collection sites are delivered to products section, and given the fact that blood is a live tissue; its transportation should be taken place in proper conditions and temperature.

Separation of blood parts is carried out provided that the time lapse between the blood taking and separation time does not exceed 6 hours. The blood taking bag includes anti blood coagulation and is connected to the lateral bag through a cord (connection pipe).

In order to separate blood parts, we centrifuge the blood bag, and given the specific weight of its different parts, red cells, white cells and platelet - rich plasma settle respectively, therefore it is possible to send parts from the main bag to the lateral bag through the connection pipe.

Patients who always receive blood and blood products show reaction at the time of blood injection, for this reason washed blood is asked for these patients, for the production of which normal saline is added to the blood bag three times and then centrifuge is carried out, in this way leucocytes and plasma of the blood is separated with normal saline and discharged thus pathologic reaction of the patient against blood injection, is reduced.
